Through a post on Medium that comes with various images, Matteo Pisani describes the process of creating the capactive trackpad mod for the Nintendo Switch’s Joy-Con which involved: It was the same 4:3 monitor, it was just rotated inside vertical cabinets. While many would never replace an analogue joystick for a capactive touchpad, boredeom has driven n0rx0r to mod a joy-con by replacing the former with the latter! (Image from linked Medium post) My aim is to have the real backglasses (for horizontal 4:3 arcade games) or marquees (for vertical 3:4 arcade games) just to cover the black parts… It is recognized and works in retroarch menu, I can set each input to right analog stick in inputs configuration, even rotating them (up is right, left is up…etc) but whatever I try to do, it just won’t work ingame… right stick, set up rotated or not, will never control my plane… only hatstick, only left stick, both, but never succeeded to have left stick inputs working ingame, and, even by rotating inputs clockwise in config, on pad input, on analogs, setting up right analog inputs for pad, forcing left to analog, right to analog… whatever… controls are never rotated, right stick stays inactive, can’t have this working…Īny advices or someone who succeeded doing what I’m trying to do…?Ībout your edit, no it’s not missing any pixels, the screen is full, in fact setting up video scaling to integer scale which is the case here, just center it perfectly for this bezel side (checked it by making it transparent at 50%, none pixels of actual gameplay is under the bezel…)Īt least for this driver or neogeo one… for cps2 I would have to manually place the screen using custom aspect ratio, already did it before for test purpose… and the bezel used here is just for test purpose anyway, as I am planning to create my own, and just want to cover the black bars, whatever rotation implied, a 4:3 display on a 16:9 display will always have the same black bars ) except if you set display output to full or 16:9 and so stretch the output…Īnyway even if that implies the ingame screen beeing a little smaller, this is for the hdmi output on my TV, so I don’t really care… □□ So far, unless I am using a external controller, and everything plays perfectly, using retroid left stick seems just impossible in retroarch : This is the last two pictures, everything could be fine, and it does look exactly as I want it for vertical shooters □, I could save this for each vertical game in my list… yes, I could, but I won’t as : Video : change video output/rotation to 90 deg, change video scaling/aspect ratio from core provided to 4:3… So second option, disable android/retroid auto rotation feature from upper tool bar, and now ask retroarch to display the game rotated 90°…. On the 3 first pics, you can see that the auto scale feature in overlays perfectly works, but rotation doesn’t (it does, it rotates, but I specifically asked to not rotate □) use android / retroid auto rotate feature, when I rotate my device, the game auto rotates, and this is cool…īut if you decide to have a bezel, the nightmare starts : the display (game) is rotated but always top aligned, the bezel will always rotate, even if you set auto rotation in overlays off.Ok, I’d love to play my arcade games on my retroid holding it vertically, for vertical shooters…
